Real-Time Transit Data Application

Pulse aggregates real-time transit data from VIA's GTFS feeds using FastAPI, parsing static route/stop metadata at startup and streaming live vehicle positions via GTFS-Realtime bindings. The architecture optimizes for scale by skipping the 84MB stop_times file and caching immutable route/stop references, enabling sub-second API responses for transit tracking. Deployed as a lightweight Python service handling concurrent realtime position queries without database overhead.
